The BAMA Mission
The Bay Area Mitochondria Association (BAMA) was founded in 2004 in order to foster collaboration between the Bay Area's major academic centers in the fields of mitochondrial disease and aging research. Our goal is to explore the relationship between mitochondrial dysfunction and human disease by conducting multidisciplinary research, encouraging collaboration between scientists and clinicians, and working towards the discovery of new diagnostic techniques and therapies in order to provide comprehensive care and treatment tailored to the individual.
